The discipline of Electronic Science and Engineering of Xiamen University originated from the Department of Electrical Engineering founded by President Sabendong in the war of resistance against Japan in the autumn of 1940. It has a long and glorious history. In 1952, some specialties were incorporated into Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Southeast University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, etc. Xiamen University, which is on the front line of Taiwan Strait, is one of the first universities in China to open electronic related disciplines, and one of the five universities in China to jointly run "semiconductor specialization". In the past 80 years, we have adhered to the principle of taking talent cultivation as the core, discipline construction as the foundation, and the construction of national major scientific research platform as the traction, leading discipline development, serving the main battlefield of national economy, and committed to building a world-class teaching and scientific research base of electronic science and engineering, so as to train high-quality innovative electronic talents with international competitiveness for the country.
